This TFT monitor is connected to a Windows PC USB connector. The display is working as an additional display which can be added to the main display area on the left, right, upper or lower. Alternatively it can mirror the primary screen. The display can be swiveled in steps of 90°.
In addition, the UM-720S model comes with touchscreen.
The UM-720S comes with integrated mounting and protection ! Simply turn over the rear side of the display to get a stand.

Der Monitor ist eine ideale Erweiterung für einen kleinen Steckdosencomputer (Sheeva plug). Dieser läuft mit Linux, wofür zwar kein Treiber mitgeliefert wird, allerdings ist dieser für die erforderliche DisplayLink Schnittstelle bereits verfügbar und der Monitor kann betrieben werden.
Überrascht hat mich der geringe Stromverbrauch: Obwohl die Kapazität des Sheevaplug-Netzteils ziemlich ausgereizt ist, lässt sich der Monitor ohne zusätzlichem USB-Anschluß betreiben - ein USB-Steckplatz genügt. Das Bild ist selbst bei auf Minimum geregelter Helligkeit noch nicht zu dunkel. Die 3 Taster sind am Gehäuse versenkt angebracht und müssen erfühlt werden, für klobigere Finger etwas ungünstig, aber man kann damit leben - oft werden sie ja nicht gebraucht.
Steuerungen über den Touchscreen als Eingabegerät habe ich bisher nur kurz getestet und nichts Negatives feststellen können. Die Halterung ist praktisch, einmal ausgeklappt steht der Monitor recht stabil.
Wirklich bemängeln kann ich nichts, deshalb volle Punktzahl!
